Tree of Life Open Bible Church

Tree of Life exists as a unique church in the Brookline community of Pittsburgh. We host a variety of gatherings throughout the week. We are a non-traditional church that loves people, art, and music. We believe that church is to be made up of more than bricks and mortar, but people filled with compassion and love.

Our Vision

At Tree Of Life, we want to be REAL in all that we do. And not only does that mean being authentic to both Christ and each other, but to Restore, Activate, Empower, and Love. Furthermore, we make every effort to create a safe, encouraging fellowship of people who urge each other towards Christ and His likeness.

Our Family

At Tree of Life, we welcome all into our ever-growing family. We have a range of ages, with families big and small of different types. Our eclectic bunch allows for people to be themselves, while also being spurred on towards an even fuller life in Christ.

Our City

We believe God has a plan for Pittsburgh and we are actively engaged in the city. Not only do we encourage our members to be involved in community projects but we also participate in various events around the city. We believe that the only way for Pittsburgh to be all that God has made it to be is to have healthy churches within the city limits.

Our Facility

We have recently moved into our new facility in Brookline. In December of 2016 we purchased the historic Brookline Boulevard United Presbyterian Church. Our church family has spent considerable time volunteering to make a wonderful facility equipped with free wifi, renovated sanctuary and brand new children’s ministry space. We’ve put a modern twist on a traditional church facility that is a sight to see.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Is Sunday Service?

Sunday Services at Tree of Life are about 90 minutes long.

What’s the Dress Code?

Some people dress up and others dress down. Please dress in whatever you are most comfortable with. We have no dress requirements at Tree of Life. Pastor Lance usually speaks wearing blue jeans and a button down shirt.

Where to Park

There is ample street parking around the church facility. On Sundays and during evenings there is no meter enforcement so you are permitted to park in the business district less than 1 block away. For more information on parking view our parking page with photos and specific directions.

What Does the Music Sound Like?

Tree of Life uses a unique mix of musicians to create the worship experience at Tree of Life. We utilize acoustic and electric guitars, electric keyboard and drums. Expect the music to be upbeat and motivational.

What About the Kids?

At Tree of Life we believe the children are empowered members of our church community. Because we believe that we encourage the children to spend a portion of the time of music in the sanctuary during a Sunday service. Usually about 15 minutes into the music there will be an announcement posted on the screen saying that it is time to dismiss the children to their specialized learning time. Parents and guardians will be given a pager if there are any issues with the children while they are learning and playing. At the end of the service, you can pick up your children in the children’s area. For more information about our children’s program, TWIGS, you can follow through to its page.
